Is there enough interest in having a meeting for North Yorkshire? This would be handy for those members that feel that Leeds or Tyne & Wear is too much of a trek. I don't want to tread on anybody else's toes and I'll still be attending the Horsforth bi-monthly meet. If I do go ahead with it I'll put myself forward as the North Yorkshire rep. I already have a venue and time in mind and I will reveal more in due course. I welcome your feedback. I will be moving to Dishforth soon, which will be nicely in the middle of N Yorks, but my in-laws run a a country pub in Sadberge, Co Durham, which is just in between Darlington and Tees-side, The Buck Inn. They are quite receptive to having a monthly meet there. It's maybe an hours drive from Leeds, about the same from Newcastle, so it wouldn't be excessively far for the whole of the North East. I notice there is no rep in DM for Teesside, so I hope this isn't stepping on anyones toes. Richie.

As some of you who are Club Triumph members may know, I'm the North Yorkshire area organiser for that club. The meetings are held monthly with the TSSC at the White Swan in Deighton on the A19 between York and Selby on the first Wednesday of every month from 8pm. I was thinking of bringing the TDC on board and as a TDC member I can put myself forward as the area rep. There would be little more effort involved on my part but hopefully it would boost the attendance a bit and get a few more Dollies in the car park. Richie, if you want to form a Teeside area or if more people are in favour of having the meeting at The Buck Inn then I won't stand in your way. In fact I'll try to make your first meet (it it happens) to give you some moral support. I didn't realise (obviously) that was what you were alluding to at TDCIR, I'm sure we can get our heads together to ensure the evenings didn't clash, were too close together or whatever, to enable max area coverage for the whole of the NE area. Also bear in mind the nature of my employment means I wouldn't be able to guaruntee my own attendance at every single meet, be it in Teeside or N Yorks. However, myself and Al Williams may be organising an Afghanistan area meet next spring, but I don't think there would be many Dollys or other attendees. Or much beer either....

All being well the first meeting for the TDC will be on Wednesday 4th October at 8pm. It will still be taking place and I will be still wearing my Club Triumph hat whatever happens. I am rep for South and East Yorkshire as you know. We've discussed it and you can take over from Steve Waldenberg for North and West Yorkshire if you like. I don't want to take on the exisiting Horsforth meeting. (which I will still be attending) As I might have said earlier on in this thread I'm already representing Club Triumph as an area organiser at the exisiting North Yorkshire meeting and bringing the TDC on board wouldn't require any more effort on my part. I thought that by having an extra area meeting for the TDC might encourage a few more members to attend as you've proved by your East/South Yorks meet. The first North Yorkshire area meeting for the TDC will be on Wednesday 4th October from 8.00pm at the White Swan in Deighton which is on the A19 between York and Selby. This is a joint meeting with Club Triumph and the TSSC and take place on the first Wednesday of every month. Posts: 214 (09/26/06 02:52:37) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Fair enough we can keep it as follows for the forseeable future: West Yorks: Steve Waldenberg North Yorks: Dave Marshall South/East Yorks: Mark Ashbridge All I will point out is that Deighton is not actually that far from Airmyn where we hold the other meet and in point of fact quite an easy drive from Leeds. When you talked about North Yorkshire I was expecting it to be the area to the north of York taking in Thirsk, Malton, Scarborough and so on. I think that it would not be a very good idea to have three in a relatively small radius of each other. I'll come along to this first meet and we can see what opinion is, because it needs sorting out.

Last November it became a joint Club Triumph/TSSC meet. As the Club Triumph area organiser for this meeting I thought it would be a great idea to bring the TDC on board as I'm also a TDC member. There is no extra effort required on my part and it would be a great way to boost attendance. I didn't realize how close Deighton was to Airmyn at first but I think it is better to be spoilt for choice. Maybe we could recruit some Dolly owners in the TDC who are not members. Always worth a try. I always bring my Dolly Mixture to this meeting. I'm not going to get into the argument, but the never have done anything constructive in assisting in parts supply or remanufacture? They can also have an attitude which can be likened to certain MG owners clubs. I won't be attending thanks. Think I'll stick to this club with an accessible venue from major motorway links
